New Star Industries manufactures hex head bolts and screws at its IATF 16949:2016 certified facility, supplying automotive, industrial, construction, and infrastructure customers. Each batch is hot-forged and verified in-house using UTM tensile testing, Magna Flux crack detection, and Spectro material analysis.

Manufactured in grades 4.6 through 10.9, in sizes from M6 to M64, with a proven zero-PPM defect record across our OEM customer base.

Category: Bolts & Screws

Applications

Our hex head bolts are supplied primarily into two segments:

  • Automotive OEM assembly — high-tensile hex bolts for trucks, tractors, and combine harvesters, manufactured to customer torque and grade specifications.
  • Structural and construction fastening — half-thread and full-thread hex bolts (IS 1364 Part 1 and Part 2) for PEB (Pre-Engineered Building) structures and general industrial construction.

For non-standard requirements, we manufacture to customer drawing rather than restricting supply to catalogue sizes.

Manufacturing & Quality Control

Hex head bolts are cold and hot forged on our production lines, heat-treated on an SCADA-controlled mesh-belt furnace for consistent hardness across batches, and finished in Zinc Phosphate, Manganese Phosphate, Zinc Electroplating (hexavalent or trivalent chrome), or ZAC (Zinc Aluminium Flake) coating, depending on the corrosion resistance the application requires.

Every batch is checked in our in-house lab before dispatch — tensile and yield strength on Universal Testing Machines (UTM), dimensional accuracy on a Profile Projector, surface and sub-surface crack detection via Magna Flux, and material composition verification via Spectro analysis.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between half-thread and full-thread hex bolts?

Half-thread bolts (IS 1364 Part 1) have an unthreaded shank section, giving better shear resistance in structural joints. Full-thread bolts (IS 1364 Part 2) are threaded along the entire length, used where maximum clamping engagement is needed. We manufacture both to the same grade and coating options.

Can you manufacture non-standard hex bolt sizes?

Yes. Alongside our standard M6–M64 range, we manufacture non-standard components to customer drawing and specification — common for OEM applications with custom head dimensions, thread lengths, or grade requirements outside catalogue standards.

Which grades and standards do you supply hex bolts in?

Grades 4.6, 5.6, 6.8, 8.8, and 10.9, manufactured to ISO 4014, ISO 4017, DIN 931, DIN 933, and IS 1364 (Parts 1 & 2).

What coatings are available?

Zinc Phosphate, Manganese Phosphate, Zinc Electroplating (hexavalent or trivalent chrome), and ZAC (Zinc Aluminium Flake) coating — selected based on the corrosion resistance and torque requirements of your application.
